The Collaborative Law Process
This process involves you and your ex-partner each appointing a specially trained Collaborative Lawyer. The four of you will all sign a document known as a “Participation Agreement” where you all agree to resolve matters without issuing legal proceedings (other than for the purposes of submitting an agreed application for an order). Such is the commitment to the process that if it breaks down then you each have to find new legal representation.
The Collaborative process can be used to discuss children issues and financial aspects of your relationship breakdown. The process involves a series of four way meetings with you and your specially trained collaborative lawyers. All negotiations take place to face making the process a far more personal one than getting embroiled in protracted and financially and emotionally costly litigation.
